Nissan India has officially announced the name of its upcoming C-segment SUV — the Nissan Tekton. The model, set for a mid-2026 launch, will take on strong rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder. The Tekton marks a major step in Nissan’s renewed India strategy, with a design and positioning aimed squarely at re-establishing the brand’s footprint in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.

The name ‘Tekton’, derived from Greek, translates to craftsman or architect — a fitting description for an SUV that blends strong proportions with premium detailing. Nissan says the Tekton embodies the brand’s global design philosophy, bringing sophistication, presence, and modern technology to Indian buyers.

Design: Inspired by the Patrol, Crafted for India

According to Ken Lee, Nissan’s Senior Design Director, the Tekton’s design draws inspiration from the brand’s flagship SUV — the Patrol. The resemblance is evident in the upright stance, sculpted bonnet, and bold front fascia that carries a reinterpretation of Nissan’s V-motion grille.

The LED lighting signature stretches across the SUV’s width, complemented by split headlamps, a rugged bumper, and distinctive silver elements that emphasize the Tekton’s width and strength.
At the sides, flared wheel arches, multi-spoke alloy wheels, and crisp character lines give it a muscular yet refined profile. The rear design continues the connected LED treatment with squared tail-lamps, an upright tailgate, and a roof-mounted spoiler for a sporty touch. The Tekton lettering on the nose and tailgate adds a sense of identity and confidence to the overall look.

Interior: Premium Layers and Modern Tech

While Nissan hasn’t fully revealed the cabin yet, the teasers highlight a three-tone dashboard combining soft-touch materials with glossy black surfaces and a copper-accent strip that runs across the fascia.
