The Mahindra Thar has long held an iconic status among off-road enthusiasts and adventure seekers. With its rugged design, formidable performance, and undeniable road presence, the Thar has established itself as a symbol of freedom and exploration. Building on this legacy, Mahindra has now introduced the Thar Roxx, a 5-door variant that has been eagerly awaited by fans. The new Thar Roxx, with prices starting at Rs 12.99 lakh and going up to Rs 20.49 lakh (ex-showroom), promises to be a game-changer with its powerful petrol and diesel engine options, as well as the choice between rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and four-wheel-drive (4WD) configurations.

Engine

Under the hood, the Mahindra Thar Roxx offers two engine choices: a 2-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. These engines have been tuned to deliver higher performance, with the petrol engine producing up to 177 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine generates up to 175 PS and 370 Nm of torque. Both engines are available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The Thar Roxx’s RWD and 4WD options ensure versatility, allowing drivers to navigate urban roads and rugged terrains easily.

Exterior

The Thar Roxx stands out with its bold design elements, including a distinctive 6-slat grille, silver-finished bumpers, and round headlamps with C-shaped DRLs. Compared to the 3-door Thar, the Thar Roxx is notably larger, measuring 4428 mm in length, 1870 mm in width, and 1923 mm in height. Inside, the Thar Roxx is equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a matching 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The cabin also features a panoramic sunroof, 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and a 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with a 560W amplifier, providing a luxurious and connected driving experience. For added convenience, it includes a 65W power charging point and wireless charging.

Safety

Safety has been a priority in the Thar Roxx, which comes equipped with 6 airbags, hill hold and descent control, electronic stability control (ESC), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a 360-degree camera.
