New Face For Honda City

The Honda City is a popular compact sedan produced by the Japanese automaker Honda. It has been a popular car in India for many years, known for its spacious interior, fuel efficiency, and advanced features.Honda Cars India Ltd, launched the New Honda City 2023 (Petrol) and Honda City e:HEV in the Indian market with sporty exterior styling, elegant interior enhancements and introduction of new features for advanced safety, connectivity and convenience. Both the models are BS-6 RDE compliant on E5 fuel and E20 material compatible. With the new launches Honda is targeting the customers who are prioritizing safety and Eco-friendliness in their cars. The new City starts at 13.52 on road price at Peninsular Honda Kochi and City eHEV starts at 20.89 lakhs on road price.

Engine

The new Honda City 2023 comes with a single 1.5-litre i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine producing 121 PS power and 145Nm torque, this engine is paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed CVT transmission. The City Hybrid features two-motor eCVT hybrid system connected with the 1.5-litre i-VTEC DOHC petrol engine which churns out a combined output of 126 PS and 253Nm. This system comes with .7 kWh battery pack paired with an e-CVT gearbox. The hybrid has a claimed mileage of 27.13 kmpl while the City petrol has a mileage of 17.3 kmpl and 18.4 for manual and CVT options.

Exterior and Design

The new City gets a New Sporty Front Grille with Diamond chequered flag pattern, newly designed Front Bumper with Carbon wrapped Lower Molding, Fog Lamp Garnish, New Rear Bumper with Sporty Carbon-Wrapped Diffuser, Body colored Sporty Trunk Lip Spoiler and newly designed R16 Dual-Tone Diamond-Cut Multi-Spoke Alloy Wheels. A new color Obsidian Blue Pearl is also added to City's Color options.

Interior

The interior feels and looks premium and is also spacious. Two dual-tone options are available with new City, Beige & Black Interiors in Petrol variants and Luxurious Two-Tone Ivory & Black Interior City e:HEV. City comes with 8-inch touchscreen display with connectivity features like Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, The new City comes equipped with 37 Honda Connect features comes with free five-year subscription .Other features include Remote control operation via Smart Phone Application, Rear Camera, Wireless Charger, Rain Sensing Auto Wiper add to the appeal and convenience for the customers. Ambient Lighting introduced in Front Door Inner Handle and Front Door pockets. The brightness can be adjusted through the meter illumination control switch, or turned off upon users’ requirements. The City e:HEV gets a new Carbon Fiber pattern Instrument Panel Assistant side Garnish Finish, Piano Black Surround Finish on All AC Vents and Piano Black Garnish on Steering Wheel.

Safety is one of the main features of the City and City Hybrid. The New City Petrol and New City e:HEV comes fully equipped with host of active and passive safety features like Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure, AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System) at low speed EV Mode (in City e:HEV), 6 Airbags, Honda Lane-Watch, Multi-angle Rear view Camera, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System with Deflation Warning, Vehicle Stability Assist with Agile Handling Assist, Hill Start Assist, ISOFIX compatible Rear Side Seats with Lower Anchorage & Top Tether, Immobilizer with anti-theft alarm and many more.
